About Rhoyle Ivy King
Rhoyle Ivy King, an actor of immense talent and depth, is best known for his role on the show “All American: Homecoming,” where he portrays Nathaniel Harding, the first Black nonbinary character to be included in a CW show. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Houston, King was influenced by his Black female relatives, which shaped his gender expression. His mother, a nurse and graduate of a historically Black college and university, also played a significant role in his upbringing. A pivotal moment in his early life was a move to Kansas City, Missouri, at age nine, where his participation in a Shakespeare camp ignited his passion for acting.
King’s pursuit of a career in acting led him to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, where he studied musical theater. Despite facing challenges due to his race and androgyny, King remained undeterred and committed to his craft. His credits include a role in “RENT” at the Redhouse Art Center, a part in the ensemble for a national tour of “FAME: The Musical!,” and a stint on “Pose,” a show that celebrates the Black queer community. His persistence and talent earned him a role in “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” and his impressive audition for “All American: Homecoming” led to an expanded role in the series. The impact of his performance was such that GLAAD named the show “Must-See LGBTQ TV,” and TVLine included King’s character in their list of “10 LGBTQ+ Characters Who Proudly Made Waves on TV in 2022″.
In addition to his acting prowess, King has also found success in the world of modeling. He has modeled for Beyoncé’s clothing line, Ivy Park, and in 2022, he was featured in Sheen Magazine. His striking presence and style have also landed him on the cover of Ouch! Magazine and Jejune Magazine, further testament to his multifaceted talents and growing influence in the entertainment industry.
